This broken link business is very common in some browsers (in Windows).

It's because there's an underline in the original URL. When the browser sees a link it underlines it in blue, which converts the underline into a Rich Text or HTML graphics character.

The simple cure is to cut and paste the URL into a text file with notepad. This gets rid of the fancy format characters.

An even better way is to switch off HTML and RTF if you can.
