As have been discussed before, you need to upgrade them to have a Costas loop to wipe off the phase-modulation code. If you dig the archives, you can find the references.

I agree that it's a bit silly to ask big bucks for a box which at best needs a modification to operate. It's not off the shelf mod either. Nice machines, but... well...
