Saw this little module on EEvblog. I suspect not up to the standards for Time
Nuts <g> but nonetheless interesting. Needs to be translated from Spanish to
English.

This is an experimental module that developed as a concept for frequency
measurement applications . The synchronous converts a periodic signal with
amplitude and random manner in a square wave signal with the same frequency .
The module input accepts analog signals with voltage up to 53Vrms . The output
of the CMOS type , can be connected directly to a digital circuit (for example,
an input of a micro-controller ) . Thus, it is possible to measure the
frequency of the original signal by counting the number of rising or falling
flanks in the module output signal.
