NL has a lot of servers too, so one could expect less load per server. See <http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/europe>. || 2) get the time from a specific time server (stratum 2) in our || country. This secondary time server pertains to a "well recognized || enterprise", for example: || ntp1.belbone.be (I believe national telephone carrier) My subjective view is that most of the public time servers are less reliable, possibly because they have so many NTP clients that the load starts counting. The pool servers might actually be better in many cases. I know my load is typically around 3, between 1 and 10 (queries per second). You can try several public time servers from Belgium and some neighbouring coutries, and measure them for low jitter.
