Usually there are about 1000-1500 visitors to the pool site a day; today it was about 10000. Unless you are hosting a "funny video" or something like that then the Slashdot effect isn't so bad. :-) The pool server only got a request or two per second today.
If anyone has the appropriate monitoring in place it'd be interesting to see how much new NTP traffic we get from this. Will take a week or two to see the real impact.
Well, we got ~50 new servers added today so that should more than offset the extra users we might get too!
If most of them stick then that just increased the size of the pool by 10%. Thanks Folkert!
