Dear list, Thanks to some previous correspondence about the Garmin 18 LVC on this list, I'm ready to buy the barewire one, wire it up, and start using it to help the pool.
It has proven impossible for me to find it in any local establishment of
Plano -- due to the fact that it's not really a consumer product, the
local places I've talked to want $50 for shipping, which is apparently
how much Garmin charges.
Here's a list of three cheapest sources for Garmin GPS 18 LVC:
* Star Lite Intl. - $67.95 + $10.03 s/h
http://www.starlite-intl.com/Detail.asp?pid=1234
* GPS Zone - $78.74 + $5.79 s/h

* GPS City - $79.95 + $7.96 s/h
http://www.gpscity.com/item-garmin-gps-18-lvc/oem18lvc.htm
* Two other online retailers (Defender and MegaGPS) offer it for $79.99,
and for the shipping price they require me to open an account.
I am getting ready to buy it from Star Lite Intl., but I would like for
those who already own this model to tell me if there exist any
accessories for it, such as mounting brackets and whatnot. Does this
device even have any holes/ports for mounting devices?
I see that David Taylor[1] has his mounted on an aluminium bracket
outside a window, but how is it attached?
