Hi, timekeepers--
I was interested to see that D-Link routers are apparently querying a bunch
of stratum-1 NTP timeservers in violation of their published terms-of-use,
as reported here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4906138.stm
http://people.freebsd.org/~phk/dlink/
If you use D-Link routers, please look for a firmware update or manually set
the NTP server it uses to a more local timeserver.
You might also drop a polite note to D-Link's tech support asking them to
provide a solution to this abuse of resources for all of their affected
products, and document this prominently on their website, so that other
users of D-Link products are notified also.
