Folks,

The GPS18 LVC already sends out quite a long pulse, 200msec IIRC, so no
stretching should be required.  You can program the length.  Putting an
LED (with a 470 ohm resistor) between the PPS output and ground should
show approximately what the pulse length is.  With 200ms I can clear see
the start and end of the pulse as two distinct events.
