It will be a while.
I've attached the MRTG graph from one of my boxes that I, as a test,
had permanently in the pool.ntp.org zone for about 8 months. After
the sudden traffic increase in November it fall over (I didn't
realize that was what was going on - I thought it fell over and then
bad clients sent more traffic to it and it could never recover) and I
took it out of the pool. As you can see it's still getting around
50Kbit/sec traffic.
