My server has only been listed in the global pool three times in the last
week. It's usually about once a day or once every two days, although
occasionally I get multiple spikes in a single day. And it only lasts about
a couple hours or so.

Why do some pool servers get so much traffic, while others, like mine, go
relatively unused?

It seems to me the load should be more balanced between the pool servers.
