FYI, the nameservers for pool.ntp.org are returning NXDOMAIN for some queries. Go to www.dnsstuff.com and enter pool.ntp.org in the DNSreport searchbox to see the problems. Several of the servers have outdated zone files (the serial numbers do not match).
The serial numbers look strange - they are not the usual date in reverse order, i.e. 2007081801 for the first version today. If there is a decimal point in the serial number this frequently the cause of this problem. Please respond by direct email to me. I am not on this mailing list.
