Your router undoubtedly has a connection tracking limit that is being
overcome bythe ntp pool (but not by P2P applications). I imagine this
is a consumer-oriented router. If so you may not be able to disable
stateful packet tracking for NTP only. Unless the router is replaced
or updated firmware resolves the problem, you probably cannot use it
in front of a pool server.
