Then, remember that you posted on this list that there is no way openface or any other provider should be required to run its own ntp servers ? I think you said something like it would cost them to much to set it up etc... The fact is that almost all providers ALREADY run their own ntp servers. See my list of provider ntp servers at: http://blogtech.oc9.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=10&Itemid=15 There is already over 2,000 ntp servers on this list. Given that they are all on fast connection provider backbones, their horse-power beats the pool horse-power. Before somebody mentions it; NO they are not colos ;-) Also, because a stratum 4 close by gives better time than a far away stratum 1, well you the get the idea... Let's not replay our argument although, it might make Ask mad or Nelson pop-up some pop-corn again ;-) I just though I would post this to let you know that your provider and employer was running quite a few ntp servers. I assumed that you did not know about it from your other posts so this would be new data for you. Here is openface ntp servers : 216.46.1.1 216.46.1.2 216.46.1.5 216.46.1.6 216.46.1.7 216.46.1.11 216.46.1.16 216.46.1.19 216.46.1.20 216.46.1.23 216.46.1.24 216.46.1.28 216.46.1.29 216.46.1.51 216.46.0.1 216.46.0.2 216.46.0.16 216.46.0.74 216.46.0.90 216.46.0.93 216.46.0.130 216.46.0.134 216.46.0.181 216.46.0.200 216.46.0.201 216.46.0.245 216.46.0.246 216.46.0.250 Cheers, Louis http://blogtech.oc9.com _______________________________________________ timekeepers mailing list [email protected] https://fortytwo.ch/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/timekeepers
