VERY nice specs! my strat2 are all over the place but then again i did nothing 
but choose 12 servers plug them in and let them run... i have not had the 
time to even think about adjusting which servers to use and trying others 
since the boss has had me on this gps kick to get a server running with that. 
that machine will have to stay linux/gpsd since he wants to use web based sat 
position information. i dont know of anything that would work on freebsd for 
that except to do what you recommended before and build a small splitout box 
and use 2 comports, one for gpsd only for remote use.
