I have to say it's not an easy task in the current stable version.
You have to:
* create groups
* export all objects in CSV
* import this as security rules (adding columns, group, read, write, create)
But it takes time.
In the development version of OpenERP, we defined groups and securities
by default so that you just have to set groups on users. But that's for
the nest version.
Thanks,

In preparation for allowing client users access to their system, I went in to
trying to define security. Their system has 468 menues, and 518 users for the
first client system. Can anybody explain how we are supposed to establish
security for these users in a way that doesn't take an entire staff a whole
week to accomplish?
