Albert, Your comments are absolutely correct. However, let me state that I think that PgPool II + Slony is a good solution for a production system, where you shouldn't update, install, deinstall modules very often. If you have to do it ocasionally you will have to plan for a maintenance procedure there...
The forthcoming embeded replication for 8.4 can be an easy solution but we will have to wait and see if it is ready by that time. Anyway, most of the cases the bottleneck is in tinyerp itself and this one is easier to solve...
