Camp2camp has done some nice works regarding multicurrency and exchange rates. You can look at their web page. They are probably the people with more implementations using multicurrency.
On the last developer's community days, the accounting workshop worked a bit on the multicurrency features. There were some problems in some specific configurations that were addressed by the group and hopefully resolved for the next version. The main problem was with reconciliation in multicurrency since the write-off movements can have 2 different origins: - a normal "write-off" like any othe reconcile - a "write-off" coming from a difference in account rates This write off has some problems since it affects also taxes and the problem gets really complicated when you add analytic accounting to the equation. However, the solution found (by the way... not existing on any other software that we knew) will probably work alright making OpenERP an excellent system for multcurrency accounting.
