I have it working now. 5 minutes on an unrelated forum gave me the answer. [Rolling Eyes]
To connect to a server somewhere else on the nework just change the server from "localhost" to the IP address of the PC with the server installed. I am baffled that many of the startup "problems" I have had, and many others judging by browsing this forum, aren't covered in a 2 page "getting started" guide. I know it is open source and therefore requires a bit of input, but the market base for those that make money by customising or providing services for this software would be greatly increased if getting through the front door were a little easier.
