Acutally, it looks like things have chnage for the better and you do not have to force the domain rule, you can simply use the pull downs and select:
Field = user_id Operator = '=' Operand = User However, the question originally asked in this thread is still unanswered and I cannot see how to do it. How can you allow a group of users to read any CRm Case but only edit/write the ones that they have been assigned as the user responsible?
