First check in a web browser if the URL http://localhost/magentosite/magento/index.php/api/xmlrpc points to the XMLRPC api of your Magento installation. Your must see a page wiht XML content.
Also verify you have created a webservice user with enough roles in Magento, and its name and password match the ones filled in OpenERP Magento form.
