Raphaël, > I think you have no idea what the JVM is doing to optimize code execution.
Dude, have we met?:) This is either an arrogant assumption or an unfortunate literal translation from a french locution. Either ways rest assured that I have an idea (albeit a slight one) about what kind of optimizations are happening on the JVM. I do agree though that the JVM is a mature and scalable platform and arguably the best one around to deploy enterprise apps and I'd love to see OpenERP __6__ run on it in fast and scalable fashion. Going back to Unladen Swallow, the 5 goals of the project are quite clear and specific and you do not need an army of engineers to go about implementing what are understood techniques. And must I add that, according to their benchmark, they already made Python faster so let's see how it evolves. Fabien, I see what you're saying and your test is quite clear but can you give your take on the following comment from Raphaël ? Is he referring to specific portions of the app? > > Luckily there were tons of improvements in OpenERP 5 vs 4.2 so even if > concurrency is not yet possible without starting several instances, server > requests are often faster so you don't feel latency to often. > rgds, Dom. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=34415#34415 -------------------- m2f --------------------
