I have been in IT and management for several decades. We consult in IT, Open
Source, ERP etc. You may see more details about ERP Implementation process at:

In my experience I have seen, especially in developing economies, that most
prospect decision makers, doNOT understand about management consulting,
business process re-engineering or streamlining, and they just like you to demo
the software package, hoping that a demo will provide the consulting and
educational inputs (free if possible), and prefer to get their advise from the
Vendor sales folks. In case of an Open Source ERP, this is usually not
economically viable. Our answer to this problem was UdoIT. In a short training
the process for an ERP implementation is outlined. The steps needed, skills
needed to do these steps, and what happens if they are not done properly, are
explained. We have seen that with this approach the prospect understands what
has to be done, and the value add provided. Only then do we we spend effort on
any lead to further the sale, let alone demos and implementation.

We have plans to make an eLearing course, for educating and training customers
to help have more successful ERP projects. This will be done over the Internet,
using groupware, wikis etc., web conferencing and Open Source Course management
system; Moodle.

Hope to start a pilot training by Aug 2009.
