thanks - i will checkout this branch. FYI - the audittrail module might be a reasonable alternative for the short term but it has a serious bug (I created the bug ticket some months back). In short, it will not update the audittrails of any sibling objects in any particular view. for instance the main Partner view shows the contact info (address, etc.) If you create an audittrail and enable it for both Partner and Address/contact objects, updating data in the main partner view will update the base info in both, but o9nly the Partner object audittrail will be updated. Only if you access the address/contact record in complete isolation will its audittrail records be updated properly.
