I have read that even before.

There were reimbursement meter on the site in the shared funding section -
where is it now?

Migration script never was mentioned in the shared funding section.

There are no reimbursement calculated, as it seems, the migration script to 5.0
is going to be released when Open ERP 6.0 will be current version.

No one asks for guarantees. As you know there are only two things guaranteed in
our life, but none of them is related to migrations.

What is more interesting, there is no option to buy the migration sript
separately? You are forced to buy some sort of a bundle. Is OpenERP a SAAS? The
policy is a breed of the one Microsoft executes - make bundles and exploit
monopoly situation.

If one inevitably have to pay initial developer a yearly fee, then there is no
big difference when you buy a proprietary license.

Where there is the space for other contributors, if in a one way or another you
have to buy services (read license) from initial developer.

How to explain a customer the most obvious benefit of using a Free software. /
The software is free..... well almost free. /

This is not definitely a GPL approach.

Without a migration and other core tools, when current version is going to last
for 1.5....2 years, it is just a geek toy.

It is normal when you can take newer version of software and be able to try
using data created by older one. Of course if you have custom developments you
may need a help with it. But this is a matter of choice. It is normal when you
have a report designer included in a proprietary ERP or accounting system.
Ok, DB synchronization tools are common to be optional addons.

I can not believe when one has to buy maintenace contract to open an OpenOffice
files created with older version. There are numerous examples of this, you name
them.
