A similar, potentially related, requirement, is the need for a physical
production location. In my understanding, this is not the same as the default
virtual production location.

The default behavior of Open ERP production orders is to automatically create
stock moves from the Stock location to Production location.

How do we deal with situations where for example in the Stock location we
manage screws by jars of 100 screws each, but in the BoMs we only use 4 screws
per item?

Releasing from Stock to Production is in increments of 100 screws. However, it
is possible that we only use a part of this. So Production keeps the remaining
screws until they are consumed. Only then do we request from Stock again.

I know this can be done using manual stock moves. However, that would require
that the default location of the screws is not the Stock location, and instead
a physical Production location.

That way, the production orders would work perfectly until the Production
location has no more screws left. Then ideally an automatic procurement or
stock move requesting more screws from Stock to Production would be made.

Is this possible in the current Open ERP?

Thank you very much.

Cheers!
