Hi, I think this is sort of SAAS related option, when you host several unconnected companies on the same server, so you do not want users to see other companies they do not belong to. So they need to be identified (authenticated) before, only then they see a list of available companies.
This is sort of multistage login, like in internet banking, where you have to enter some other credentials after the login name and password. With the eTiny it is possible to create some sort of web page in the middle which authenticates the user against external database. Then shows available databases (companies). With application (for example GTK) client, have to modify the client app itself. After all it is not so hard.
