Hello there,
the holiday management is the first module for us to integrate after creating
our company structure (users, employees, managers and so on). So please be
patient if I ask for self confident things...

- In our company every employee has a defined number of paid hodiday each year.
This number has to be entered somewhere. Is there a field for this? I'd expect
it somewhere in the contract management, but didn't find it...

- Also in the same area I'd expect a field, how many days a week are working
days for this employee. My wife e.g. has 6 days a week, I have only 5. On the
other hand my wife has more holidays, so in th eend its the same number of
weeks...

- Somewhere in the configuration has to be a calender, which can handle local
public holidays. Here in Germany every area has their own public holidays, so
for several offices we need different lists of public holidays.

- If a user requests holidays he needs to be informed first about the amount of
available holidays he has before and after the requested time.

- The requested time needs to be calculated by end day minus start day minus
non-working days (e.g. weekend) minus public holidays (if they do not fall on a
non-working day).

- The request contains now the (hopefully) correct number of available
holidays, requested holidays (including the start and end date) and the
remaining holidays.

- Now the employee needs to define his representive during the holidays. This
will typically be an colleage from the same department, preferrably with the
same job description. After choosing the representive the request can be sent.

- The workflow brings the request to the representive, who has to accept or
reject for the representation.

- If rejecting the request goes back to the requester, who can modify it, e.g.
entering another representive or another date.

- If the representive accepts the request if will be forwarded to the manager
of the representive. Again the request can be accepted or rejected.

- In case of rejection the request goes back to the requester like described
above.

- In case of acceptance the request will be forwarded to the manager of the
requester, if this is a different person. Here the request can be accepted or
rejected for the third time.

- In case of acceptance the request is carried to the HR department for
information and documentation. They have also the possibility to reject, but
typically they won't.

Additionally to this workflow every employee needs a list somewhere in his
account where he can see, which requests he has sent yet and what their status
is.

I do not know, how much of this is implemented in the standard holiday
management modul (e.g. I read about the list, but it reads as if it can only be
created by the HR dept.!?), how much can be added by 'normal' configuration and
which parts are not coveable with the existing module(s) and need to be created
complete new.
Has anyone an idea how much time this could cost
a. to an experienced OpenERP programmer?
b. to an experienced programmer without OpenERP knowledge?
c. to an completly greenhorn like me?

Thanks for your suggestions and
best regards
ulsc
