Hello! I would like to inform that we have separated engine into two modules - "report_openoffice" and "report_openoffice_pdf".
report_openoffice - main module which does the big job, now it is independent from OOo (pyuno). Now it produces ODT/ODS documents. report_openoffice_pdf - pdf converter for reporting engine. We have isolated all of the OOo dependency into this module. To have PDF output you have to install this module. Well, it means, that now you can use engine without OOo, if you do not need PDF output. If you need PDF, you have to install report_openoffice_pdf module and then you will be able to set report to PDF output. I think this is fair enough - to have feature, but have it optional. Give it a try, we have added slightly better error reporting for troubleshooting the OOo connection. So now it should be easier to connect to OOo service...
