We offer support for the ERP implementation. We dont differentiate 'certified',
non certified, commercial/propreitary etc in our implementations. Its one
support and just one, whether he has a bug in the purchase module, or another
community module, we fix it.

Flat price or per hour pricing is just a commercial detail and depends on what
the customer purchases.

Sharoon... I totally agree with you. It has nosense offering only some modules
support. If a module is installed to someone in production, support must
include all customer needs, not only "a few" modules. This is just "anti - open
Source" campaigns content. Bad Support. Limited support. You are right it's
just stablishing contract conditions with customer. But he must be supported.

In the other side... someone wrote that OpenERP S.A. wants to sale migration
scripts. It has nosense if they only include "certified modules". We had no
customer's implementation including only "certified modules". I don't know if
they are thinking about building something like the technologies you have
described on this post but I thing they should carefully read this thread to
consider the options and accept community and partners colaboration to build
the best one.
is it big work? please don't let people doing it several times. Coordinate
community, assign tasks, pay each other working hours if necesary. Ask partners
to find customers who want's to finance the scripts if necesary. Open a bank
account to donations if necesary, make something innovative but let people
explain and find best option. My idealistic focus of problem...
