Hi,

We are in the initial feasibility study stage of developing a new MAC layer protocol using the CC2420 radio on the micaz platform. Something I am confused about, (and things cleared up a bit after reading the tinyos FAQ) is about the 802.15.4 implemementation in tinyos.

From the FAQ, 802.15.4 has not been implemented in the radio stack, BUT packets being transmitted are 802.15.4 compatible. In that case is there the same degree of freedom in modifying the MAC when compared to CC1000 on mica2 ? Are there restrictions, or limitations that I should know about ? Finally, is there a CC2420 tinyos design document that I could look up, instead of asking silly questions ?

Thanks,
Ajit.
