That's what I have been trying to do every time, but I keep getting the same message... Althought I can run java from Matlab, if I try to do

Well.. you don't have to
downgrade. In this case, by right, you are not supposed to have any
problems. Try this link - http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/~phoebusc/330NEST/tinyos_notes/TinyOS_matlab_setup.txt
. I used this to configure my MATLAB. Follow the instructions here and see
if it helps.
