Thanks, Miguel.

Is it right to say what I need to do is basically to replace files under $TOSROOT/chips/cc2420, if I use CC2420 radio?  Specifically, CC2420Config.nc, CC2420 Control.nc, CC2420Csma.nc, etc?

I looked though S-MAC implementation, they changed files under $TOSROOT/interfaces, $TOSROOT/platform, and $TOSROOT/system.   However, since they were using TinyOS 1.x but I am using 2.0, am I right to focus on files under $TOSROOT/chips/cc2420 instead of those three other directories?

Thanks!

If you want to create a new protocol I would try first to re-use some characteristics already developed, so you won't waste time programmign them. Some good codes I have seen are the S-MAC and the SCP-MAC codes thare are available for mica2 and micaz motes. One you see at those codes you will understand them, at least roughly, so then you can start making some modifications so youcan get a new protocol.

Hi Guys,

Anyone can give a rough outline or simply a pointer to developing a new (CSMA-based) MAC in TinyOS?

Thanks a ton!!
