Did you have exact same error as I did? Tossim worked, so I'd imagine gcc 
worked fine. I have avr-gcc 3.4.5. Thank you.

last time I checked gcc4 was not working with tinyos-2.x, so you have 
to 
stick with the 3.4.6 version.
