The tutorial clearly says that the serial forwarder allows you to "communicate with a mote from a PC". If your mote has a serial interface, this component will allow you to send messages over the serial link. If you don't know what a serial link is, it's basically a wired link.
It also shows how to use TestSerial and BaseStation as applications. I also recall MultihopOscilloscope uses serial communication. http://docs.tinyos.net/index.php/Mote-PC_serial_communication_and_SerialForwarder David On Sun, Feb 24, 2008 at 6:21 AM, subhash nemani <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > i would like to know for what purpose serialforwarder is used for and i > read about serialforwarder in one of the tinyos lesson but couldn't > understand clearly > > > is there any inbuilt(sample ) application to know its working > > > thanks in advance > > _______________________________________________ > Tinyos-help mailing list > [email protected] > https://www.millennium.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tinyos-help > _______________________________________________ Tinyos-help mailing list [email protected] https://www.millennium.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tinyos-help
