Depending on what kind of processing overhead you have in the processingof
each character you will have problems at 250Kbps.

At 115200 the processing is close.  When we turned threads on and added a
small
byte collector for GPS serial processing we would miss many bytes at 115200
so
we dropped down to 57600.

Depends on what you are running from the interrupt vector.
