Use the StdControl interface for the ActiveMessageC component to turn
off and on the radio. The interface you have found is for internal use
of the radio driver.

Again, the ActiveMessageC component provides this interface, use that
(from platforms/iris).

If the mote is not sleeping then it is awake, so you cannot set a
separate interval for that.
