Hi, TinyOS is based on C. Java is only used on the back-end (e.g., computer). With TinyOS you cannot use Java on the sensor platforms (e.g., motes) themselves. If you are interested in using Java on the sensor nodes, you might want to look into IBM's moterunner project: http://www.zurich.ibm.com/moterunner/
