There are a number of problems with your request...

Makes it hard to help you.

First you don't say what version of the source code you are using. Don't
know what http://eimtcollab.uoc.edu/softcou24_12/tinyos-2.x_cou24.tar.gz is
or where it comes from.

I've looked at the current (T2.1.2 as released) and I see that
apps/tests/TestSerial/Makefile has an include for $(TOSDIR)/lib/T2Hack.

I assume that is what you are talking about.

Have you tried removing that line and seeing what happens?

It is basic C, you should know what it means and how to deal with it.

I have installed following the manual, in ubuntu.

What manual?

No idea. Its something that somebody did at some point, and then it got
removed.

I looked through the logs and I don't see where it got removed.

The line got added in 2008, looks like it was temporary and got commited by
accident. Since there is very little code review in T2, I'm not
surprised. So I think it is cruft. This also implies that hardly anyone
actually gets stuck by that bit of cruft. I suspect most folks just remove
the include, use TestSerial for a little bit and then move on. So it
never got fixed.

No idea what the COU24 tree is. You should be using the released sources.
Especially since your are asking for help on the main help list.

Its not available in anything else I'v looked at either.

TestSerial is really simple. Try removing that include line. If it
doesn't work, figure out why and fix it.

Its something you should be able to figure out yourself.

Give it a shot.
