There's no "new" version of motes. The mica mote is the current mote
that UCB is supporting and will be supporting for at least the next 6
months.

Crossbow has developed a "dot" mote the size of a quarter. UCB is not
currently supporting this hardware although there is an effort to
provide programming support for it under TinyOS.

For ease of programming and handling, as well as software support, you
want to go with the Mica motes.

Subject: [Tinyos-users] New motes version

Hi all,

I wanted to purchase more Mica Motes and CrossBow told me a new version
is
coming in about a month, they told it will not be compatible with
current
version because of different radios.

Will the new version be compatible with current TinyOS and UART? When
will it
be supported?

Can somebody suggest if I should buy the old version or wait? Is there
more
information about the new version?

Best Regards
Iftach
