We have recently ported S-MAC (and related physical layer components) to nesC environment. The source code is checked into the TinyOS CVS repository at Sourceforge.
This version of implementation includes some new features in S-MAC protocol design. For the latest information of S-MAC design and measurement results, please refer to our new technical report at http://www.isi.edu/~weiye/pub/smac_tr567.pdf If you are using TinyOS CVS repository at Sourceforge, you can get the S-MAC source code by doing 'cvs update -d'. The code is located at tinyos-1.x/contrib/s-mac/. If you are not using TinyOS CVS, you can get S-MAC source code (v1.0) from the following website. http://www.isi.edu/scadds/software/motes/ The website also has information about new features, bug fixes, and how to start using our stack. If you are still using pre-nesC environment (such as TinyOS 0.6.1), you can get our final S-MAC release (v0.6) for pre-nesC environment from the same website above. It is this version that has been ported to nesC.
