Yep, the TinyOS community will have two options to choose from.  The MicaZ will be a 
more general purpose research platform.  Telos is designed to be a single board 
extremely low power device intended for deployments and long term operation, thus the 
decision to switch processors and run down to 1.8V.  MicaZ follows in the Mica line 
with the 51-pin connector and compatability with previous sensor boards and apps.  
Telos, on the other hand, uses a completely new system for programming and interfacing 
that is all USB/ethernet based and has no "add on" ability besides a prototyping area.
