Hi:

I want to do a project related to multihop routing. I want to test Surge
on the real mica2 motes. I set one mote as base station with ID 0 and
another two motes. I programmed all the three motes with Surge program.
And I use Surge java tool to see the topology and status of packet
receiving of each mote. I can see the scenario where the two motes can
communicate with the base station directly if I placed them near the base
station. When I placed one mote near the base station and put another one
far away, I can only see one communication between the near mote and the
base station. That make sense. But the question is why there is no
connection between the near mote and the far mote. Since for Surge, motes
can communicate through multihop. I placed the far mote in the range of
the near mote and expected to see there should be a multihop topology
showed by the java tool. But I could not see. So I want to know how does
the multihop in tinyos work? And how does the java tool for surge to
calculate the status of the connectivity? If anyone can help me, I really
appreciate.

Sincerely

Qian
