As Joe pointed out, TOS_MsgPtr->strength has the RSSI value for the received packet. Unfortunately, you cannot really use RSSI to tell you anything about the distance between two motes. However, we have a system that maintains signatures of RSSI from multiple fixed beacons to localize a mobile node down to about 1m accuracy:
