I would like to announce the release of MoteTrack, an RF based location tracking system for motes. Some of the key features of MoteTrack are: (1) it is entirely decentralized and runs entirely on motes, (2) it is robust to node failures, and (3) it achieves an accuracy of 1.5, 2, and 3 meters at the 40, 60, and 80th-percentiles respectively. It's been deployed, thoroughly tested and evaluated on MoteLab (a sensor network testbed at Harvard) over an entire floor measuring roughly 18751 square feet.
You can get the code from the TinyOS contrib directory on SourceForge (i.e. cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/tinyos/tinyos-1.x/contrib/harvard/moteTrack) The code can run in 3 different modes: (1) normal mode - requires a deployed system (2) simulation mode *with motes* - requires only 2 motes, exercises the code with a previously collected data set (3) simulation mode *without* motes - intended for testing the MoteTrack algorithms, driven by a previously collected data set The project's web site, installation instructions, and contact info is located at: http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/~konrad/projects/motetrack/ If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
