Dear All,

I would like to hear from anyone who has run the acoustic localization from
..../contrib/vu/AcousticLocalization successfully. It compiles however
never reports anything other than '-1' for the range.

Also, I would like to hear from anyone who has successfully compiled the
.../minitasks/02/vu/AcousticLocalization about what was done to that such
that is compiles. At the very least, there are missing declarations; namly
CC1K_LPL_SquelchInit and CC1K_LPL_ValidPrecursor - perhaps an oversight in
the CC1000Const.h file???

Please advise.

I have been looking around for pricing info on various motes and would like
to get
some feedback as to where people have purchased their motes, which
models/makers,
and the pricing. I'm interested in knowing if anyone has built their own,
too. If
there are any sites you can recommend, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

Alec

hi, all, I did cvs update and get the directory
C:\TinyOS\cygwin\opt\tinyos-1.x_org\contrib\02\vu
under vu directory, there are other folders such as tos tools and apps
but none of the programes in apps can be correctly compiled.
can anybody tell me how to use the apps in vu?
I want to get the distance between two mica motes for my project and
research.

Thanks a lot.

Dear Xiaoning,

You should be able to compile those applications in place, that is do not
copy them to your application directory. The supplied Makerules does some
magic to merge the required system files. The tos directory contains
modifications to the standard TinyOS kernel that are needed for precise
acoustic ranging, eg.

1. An order correct and streaming ADC
2. Clock and Timer modules (rather old ones)
3. Radio suspend support

Please let me know if you run into problems. I'll check that with the
latest
CVS download you can still compile these programs.

The code under contrib are not actively supported by the tinyos group, but
they might be supported by the authors. Check out the README files and see
if you can find some support info.
