Alessio,
I also ran into the problem and purchased the Olimex from the U.S. rep. It appears to work like the old AVR JTAG ICE. The web page is http://www.sparkfun.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cart=85796&cat=4& be sure to order the low voltage version that costs $3 more. It is under Programmers/AVR if the link does not navigate right. It is only $47.95 which is a lot cheaper than the original at $300.

Hi all, I have a big problem: I bougth the ATMEL AVR JTAG ICE mkII and it doesn't work with AVaRICE software for debugging motes.
Actually, ATMEL Corporation doesn't sell the older version of AVR JTAG ICE (mentioned in TinyOS documentation for debugging on the mote http://www.tinyos.net/tinyos-1.x/doc/nesc/debugging.html) any more. A possible solution of the problem could be the use of another emulator produced by OLIMEX (www.olimex.com) and called AVR-JTAG.
Did anyone try to work with this emulator for debugging NESC programs on MICA2/MICA2DOT motes? Did it work properly with AVaRICE/ice-gdb/avr-insight ?
PLEASE HELP ME !!! Thanks in advance,
