There is a task-tinydb RPM on the TinyOS website. It shouldn't matter
which platform you install it for. The TinyDB manual (in the doc
directory after you install the above RPM) describes how to get TinyDB
running in the simulator.

dear sam,
i am having a few troubles simulating a simple application that i
developed in nesC.
i) firstly i do not find the TinyDBApp application in the linux
distribution (tinyos noarch 1.1.0) so i upgraded to cvs1.1.7 but
still the app was missing
ii) i copied the nesC files of TinyDBApp from the cygwin installation
(cvs 1.1.7) to the linux distribution files but the application still
does not complie.
iii) which version of task-tinydb is compatible with cvs1.1.7 (red hat
distribution)
iv) what are the steps which should be followed to simulate a simple
app in tinydb
v) how should serial forwarder be configured for 'tossim-serial'.
