what's the deal here? is a cleanup/migration for avr-libc-1.2.x and
beyond an issue for tinyos-1.x or only for 2.x?
We're still deciding what kind of priority to give it actually. Most
likely we will upgrade the versions of libraries and compiler versions
for 1.2, but I'm not yet certain if that's the case for 1.2.0.
