Call for Demonstrations
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second International Workshop on
Wearable and Implantable Body Sensors Networks
Department of Computing, Imperial College London
April 12 - 13, 2005
Conference website: http://vip.doc.ic.ac.uk/bsn/
Deadline for demonstration outline submission: 28th February 2005
Deadline for early registration: 11th March 2005
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a sequel to the very successful 2004 event for which you can
find a list of speakers and their presentations at
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/vip/bsn/prev_ws/index.html.
The aim of the workshop is to bring together prominent scientists from
computing, electronics, bioengineering, medicine and industry in order
to discuss the latest technological developments and clinical
applications of Body Sensor Networks.
We invite you to contribute your work to the Demonstrations Program at
the BSN Workshop. Demonstrations are a way to show your most up-to-date
results of BSN research and development. A successful demo will
communicate ideas and concepts in a way that a regular presentation
cannot. One page outline shall be submitted which covers the principles
of the work and the method of demonstration. (Details on the submission
requirement and format will appear shortly on the workshop web site)
Proposals will be judged on their level of innovation, technical merit,
conceptual contribution, and relevance for the BSN community.
Areas of interest of the workshop include, but are not limited to:
Novel bioelectrical, biochemical, biophysical, and mechanical sensors
Hardware considerations: low power RF transceiver, energy scavenging,
battery technology, miniaturisation, system integration, process
and cost of manufacturing
 Biocompatibility and materials
Context awareness and multi-sensor data fusion
Quality of service and security issues
 Standards and light-weight communication protocols
Link to environment sensing, smart dwellings, and home monitoring
Wearable and implantable sensor integration and development platforms
 Applications of body-sensor networks
