Due to SourceForge.net not being able to import my old message archives
into the mailing list setup, and I'm getting nowhere with Gmane either, I
have decided to move the tiOPF support back to the News Server setup.
Good news is that we finally found the cause of all the news server
timeouts you guys experienced. It was a faulty ADSL Router Modem! We
replaced it with a new one, and things have been working smoothly ever
since. Over the last two months I have tested the news server extensively,
and asked a select few to test it for me as well, and indeed it seems to
have been the faulty ADSL Router that gave us all the headaches. Nobody has
experienced any newsgroup access problems since.
So with that cleared up, here follows the details for the News Server.
Server Name: news.tiopf.com
or opensoft.homeip.net // both point to the same server
Port: 119
Available groups:
tiopf.development Discuss development of tiOPF itself.
tiopf.support Ask questions about using tiOPF.
For those behind a firewall, that can't access newsgroups. I have a web
interface to the news sever at:
http://opensoft.homeip.net/webnews/
Sorry for all the back-and-forth movement. I'll leave the mailing list
running until the end of the month. I'll resend this message once per week
until then. After that, only the News Server will be available for support.
